In the beginning there were girls and boys living in girls and boys countries, talking to girls and boys just like themselves. In the beginning there was the fear and the excitement of travel, the notion that distance is measured in kilometres.
Then came mirrors in the shape of other boys and other girls. Then came smiles on the face of all girls and all boys and distance became irrelevant. Barriers disappear, smiles become wide as shame evanesces in the cold air of the promises of march.
Every girl is a branch and every boy is a leaf. Eyes race as life unfolds before all girls and all boys. Yggdrasil embraces them all, as all girls and all boys feel closer together and realise that you can only feel the distance if your heart is alone.
As girls and boys find themselves one and the same, the tree grows in them, all around them and the world is a more beautiful place. Where distance is nothing; where love and empathy are everything.
